Neighborhood Pot Luck Nov 8th

We are looking at having a neighborhood potluck on Sunday Nov 8th starting at 1pm. Please put that date aside. We will update you as things progress but the location will be the cul-de-sac on Ely Way. If you would like to volunteer to help out please email norm@victorianorman.com.

    A Simi Valley man who traveled to Redondo Beach to have a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl was sentenced Friday to 180 days in county jail and five years probation.

    Torrance Superior Court Judge James Brandlin also ordered 52-year-old Raphael Jakim to register as a sex offender, complete a 52-week sex offender treatment program and not use a computer or the Internet for anything other than work-related purposes.

    Jakim faced a maximum of four years in state prison after a jury found him guilty Tuesday of one felony count of attending an arranged meeting with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, but Deputy District Attorney Delanee Hicks recommended a lesser sentence during Friday's sentencing.
